Operative summary of the Federal Agency for fishery
According to the ROSRYBOLOVSTVO press-service release, within the 4 months of 2006, the catching of marine living resources by Russian fishing-industrial companies all-over the World ocean amounted to 1,046.3 thousand MT, that is 17.5 thousand MT (1.7%) more, than within a similar period of 2005 (1,028.7 thousand MT).
In the internal seas, the territorial sea, in the exclusive economic zone and on the continental shelf of the Russian Federation, in Azov and in the Caspian seas the catching output amounted to 795.3 thousand MT. Compared to the similar period of 2005 (812.3 thousand MT) it has been reduced by 17 thousand MT (2.1 %), including: in the Far East basin the catching output amounted to 690.4 thousand MT, that is 2.1 thousand MT (0.3%) more, than within the similar period of 2005, among them: the catching output of Alaska Pollock – 529.1 thousand MT (511.3 thousand MT in 2005), that is 17.8 thousand MT (3.5%) more, than within the similar period of 2005; the catching output of Pacific Herring – 91.5 thousand MT (104.9 thousand MT in 2005), that is 13.4 thousand MT (12.8%) less, than within the similar period of 2005.
