New rates of the port fees have become valid in Russia. One more phase in implementing the principle “fish to shore”
There goes on the implementation of the principle “fish to shore”. In the Russian sea fishing ports there became valid the new rates of the port fees for the fishing vessels. The innovations have been introduced in 14
Far East ports. The fees for the fishing vessels have been reduced some 16.2% at average. The fishermen for long time have been speaking for simplifying the administrative measures of the vessels’ registration. One of the phases to remove the administrative obstacles has turned out to be the establishment of additional check points in the ports, where the work will be organized in accordance with the principle “one window”. The reduction of the tax rates would raise the competitiveness of the Russian ports, would reduce the expenditures of the fishing enterprises. It means one more serious step toward the mandatory declaration of the catching output in the Russian ports. The President of the Association of Primorye fish industry companies, Dmitriy Glotov, not a once has been pronouncing the principal position of honest fishermen, that is necessary to fight the poachers not only with the enforcement measures, but with those economic ones as well. The reduction of the port fees is just that measure on the way to the situation where it would be profitable for fishermen to be engaged in the legal business.
