Foreign states are interesting in the development of the fishery industryRepresentatives of Russian regions and foreign states will met at the International Fishery Congress
Representatives of fifteen
Kaliningrad and St.Petersburg. The representatives of foreign states, namely from Australia, Germany, Iceland, China, South Korea and Japan, interested in a constructive cooperation with the Russian fishing-industrial complex, have also confirmed their participation to the Congress. Official representatives of administrations, heads of the fishery enterprises and the public organizations are making part of the delegations. The organizers of the Congress are: the Association of Primorye fish industry companies, Administration of Primorye territory and the Ministry of agriculture of
Russia. The International fishery congress has become the successor of the Second Far East Forum of the fishing industry, which has been held in Vladivostok last September, having helped not just to detect the problems existing in the industry, but has given to fishermen a possibility to discuss these issues and the ways of their solution. The Second Far East Forum of the fishing industry has shown as how important is to unite for the fishery community and, remaining the competitors, to look for mutual understanding, in order to drive out the industry out of the crisis.
«The decision to enlarge the Forum’s frames and to hold the International fishery congress is just another important step on the way of fishermen cooperation, their consolidation», believes the APFIC President, Dmitriy Glotov. «We must apply all the efforts in order to raise the Russian fishery industry, quite an important thing is the establishment of a constructive dialogue between fishermen and the State power agencies. To-day the first steps on the way towards such a dialogue have been made, we are being supported both by the Administration of the territory and the Ministry of agriculture. That means, that there is a real possibility to make the work of the fishing-industrial complex an effective one».
Actual problems of the fishery industry will be discussed by the participants to the Congress at the plenary session, at “round-tables” sessions and at seminars. There will be discussed the issues of implementation of the principle «fish to shore», development of secondary processing, introduction of international standards of fishery, investments possibilities, cooperation prospective, as well as many other issues.
