With the ship bells ring there took place the opening ceremony of the fishery exhibition «Pacific Future Fishery-2006», the exhibition has been opened by the Governor of the Primorye territory, Serguey Darkin. In the opening ceremony there participated the APFIC President, Dmitriy
Glotov, the head of the Fishery Department of the Primorye territory Administration, Igor Uleyskiy, and the authorities of the leading fishery industrial enterprises of the Primiorye territory. The exhibition of the fishery industry achievements is taking place within the framework of the First International Fishery Congress. At the plenary session dedicated to its opening, there have spoken the Governor of the Primorye territory, Serguey Darkin, the Vice-Minister of agriculture of the RF, Vladimir Izmaylov, the President of the All-Russia Association of the fishery enterprises, entrepreneurs and exporters (VARPE), Yuriy Kokorev, representatives of foreign delegations. Serguey Darkin has noted, that Russia has long ago become the full rights member of the world fish market. “Russia, the Primorye territory can more fully use those unique possibilities which we have: necessary fish-catching capabilities, the net of fish-processing facilities, specialists, technologies, developed logistic schemes” – has declared the Governor. Vladimir Izmaylov, in the beginning of his speech, has read out the welcome address by the minister of agriculture of Russia, Alexey Gordeyev, to the participants to the First International Fishery Congress. Analyzing the situation in the fishery-industrial complex of Russia, the Vice-Minister has pointed out, that level of the Russian fish export is significantly below the level of the Russian fish import: at the import growth this year of 90%, the export has grown by only 30%. According to Vladimir Izmaylov, many countries are engaged in re-exporting of our production. All the Russia profit remains abroad. All the speakers have expressed their opinion, that within the Russian fishery-industrial complex there can be seen the positive trends for its development. However, in order to lead the industry out of the crisis there will be necessary to solve a plenty of problems, facing the Russian fishery industry. One of the main problems facing the Russian fishery industry isunanimously considered to be by the Congress participants the development of the secondary (deep) processing.
